A recent survey found only one in 10 children aged from 5 to 11 visit a park once a month, three quarters have never roller skated, half have never climbed a tree, and a third have not yet learnt to ride a bike. The survey also revealed;

  • 72% of children have never played conkers

  • 66% have never gone hunting for insects

  • 60% have never flown a kite or built a den

  • 57% have never made a daisy chain

  • 47% have never played Frisbee

Free and unstructured play in the outdoors boosts problem-solving skills, focus and self-discipline. Socially, it improves cooperation, flexibility, and self-awareness. Emotional benefits include reduced aggression and increased happiness. Whatever your age.
